Welcome to our study!

By agreeing to this consent form, you agree to participate in a study conducted by researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The purpose of this study is to rate new video games for how fun and playable they are. The results will inform research in artificial intelligence and cognitive science.

• Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
• Risks & Benefits: There are no specific benefits or anticipated risks associated with participation in this study.
• Voluntary Participation: Your participation is completely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time by simply exiting the study. You may decline to answer any or all questions. Choosing not to participate or withdrawing will result in no penalty.
• Anonymity & Data Use: We record gameplay and interaction data during the study, including keyboard and mouse activity, game actions, level progress, game-state snapshots, page snapshots, survey/free-response text, and copy/paste/selection/input activity. This research data is stored under an anonymous study session ID so that we can link the full run together for analysis. We also store study-quality and bot-detection evidence, for payment, duplicate-session handling, exclusion review, and study integrity. These administrative and quality-review records are used only during the study and will not be released publicly. We may release scrubbed gameplay/research data for open-source research after removing Prolific identifiers and other study-time administrative or bot-review data.
